ORIGIN STORY

The story of Wholistic Care Counseling and Wellness is a rich narrative that intertwines the lives of three remarkable women—Kayla Burrow, Farrah Hunt, and Jacqueline Miner. Their journey began during their undergraduate studies in Psychology, where they pursued a degree in psychology at Texas A&M University in College Station, TX. Despite sharing the same courses, their paths did not cross, and they remained unaware of each other's existence. Kayla and Farrah returned back to Corpus Christi, TX, due to health and familial circumstances, while Jacqueline continued along her journey.

Each woman, though physically separated, shared a common search for a place where their interests, beliefs, and pursuits would be not only accepted but fostered. Their destinies converged when they independently chose to pursue a Master's in Counseling through the CACREP accredited program at Texas A&M University – Corpus Christi. Despite not having crossed paths during their undergraduate years, each woman excelled in their respective practicum opportunities, graduating with honors, and all with the shared goal of entering the counseling field full time.

It wasn't until 2017 that the three women officially met while working in the local hospitals and mental health sector. Subsequently, in 2019, they found themselves demonstrating their leadership and management skills within the same mental health facility, realizing how their passion, personalities, and drive complemented each other's growth. Their individual paths, experiences in life, friendship, relationships, and work naturally congregated, emphasizing their shared dedication to addressing brain health with a comprehensive approach to treatment. They began recognizing the missing pieces in counseling services within their community.

As their careers progressed, it became evident that their collective passion for counseling and their desired approach aligned with a communal commitment to treating the whole person – mind, body, and spirit. This realization culminated in the establishment of Wholistic Care Counseling and Wellness. The organization aims to offer a wholistic approach to brain health and wellness through updated and integrative training, encompassing the essentials of a licensed and ethical counselor. Their approach extends beyond traditional counseling, incorporating researched benefits of spiritual practices, nutrition, and low-tox living. Wholistic Care Counseling and Wellness stands as a testament to the power of shared values, purposes aligning, and a commitment to wholistic well-being within their community

Shared Testimonial

Farrah, Jacqueline, and Kayla work diligently to ensure the people they serve get access to the tools or resources they need to thrive. I had the pleasure of working alongside them through difficult mental health situations, that by the end, had a positive result - prioritizing safety. They're bad bitches.
